Jake Goist · Auction Ohio
Farm & Farmland Auctions in Central Ohio
Farm ground sells best in front of people who farm, invest in ground, or have been waiting for the right piece to come up. An auction puts them all in the same room.
Farmland doesn’t come to market often, and when it does the neighbors notice. Selling by auction takes the guesswork out of it. Instead of trying to set the perfect asking price, you let farmers and investors compete for the ground on a day that works for you.
Whether it’s a few tillable acres, a farmstead with outbuildings, or a family farm that’s been in the same hands for generations, I’ll walk the property with you, talk through how it should be offered (as a whole, in tracts, or both), and build a marketing plan to match.
My marketing mixes new and old: online exposure through Auction Ohio’s platform alongside direct mail, because farm ground still gets sold by people who read the mailbox. One past seller put it this way: “Jake used new (internet) and old (mailers) technology to advertise the sale… I don’t think any stone was unturned.”
Farm & Farmland Auctions: common questions
Can a farm be sold in tracts?
Yes. Depending on the property we can offer it as a whole, in separate tracts, or a combination. We decide together after walking the ground.
Which counties do you handle farm auctions in?
I’m based in Worthington and work across central Ohio, including Franklin, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Knox and Muskingum counties, and I’m licensed to serve sellers across Ohio.
Will I have to pay auction fees?
Sellers pay no commission; it comes from the buyer’s premium. I’ll go over every cost with you before we agree to anything.
